The new event series will feature leading scholars discussing their data science research. Lunch will be provided at each event.
The Transdisciplinary Institute in Applied Data Sciences (TRIADS) will host a new speaker series starting Friday, Oct. 14 at 12:30 p.m. This interdisciplinary series will showcase cutting-edge data science research from leading scholars at Washington University and beyond. It will also be an exciting opportunity to meet scholars from across the Danforth Campus interested in innovative approaches to research focused on important societal problems.
These events will generally take place midday on Fridays, and free lunch will be provided. To build connections to faculty across campus, each talk will take place in a different department. The series is co-sponsored by the Center for Empirical Research in the Law. The first event will feature Christopher Lucas, assistant professor of political science, who will present results from his groundbreaking work in measuring and understanding the role of emotional appeals in verbal communications. This talk will take place in Somers Family Hall (Room 216) in collaboration with the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences. Faculty, staff, and students from all schools and departments are invited to attend.
